New Version of "Self-Executing" Marketing
Program For Emerging Tech Companies
PR.exe 2.0 turns small technology companies
into "context-providers," offering affordable media
exposure.
PR.exe 2.0, developed by BackBone, Inc.
, gives companies with limited marketing budgets and unlimited
growth potential affordable and effective "self-executing" public
relations programs. PR.exe 2.0 provides emerging companies
with all the tools necessary to leverage their existing in-house
resources and implement campaigns which position (or "contextualize")
their company and products, garner market share, attract
investment and promote overall business growth. By providing
strategic direction, targeted resources and guidance on day-to-day
execution, PR.exe allows companies to maximize their relatively
modest public relations expenditures.
"With PR.exe 2.0, any technology company no matter how new or small can
become "pr-enabled" and act as its own "context-provider," said
Charles Epstein, President of BackBone, Inc. "PR.exe is the result of our
experience with small, dynamic companies with superior technologies whose growth
potential was constrained only by their limited marketing resources. PR.exe provides
these companies with all the resources--and none of the overhead and associated
expenses—they need to deliver their messages, provide context and achieve
recognition in their markets."
In addition to providing strategic direction, the program
identifies a company's key messages and establishes when,
how and to whom these messages need to be delivered.
The standard program encompasses the following components:
1). Initial Consultation to ascertain objectives and set
timetables (while the benefits of PR.exesm are far-reaching,
each program covers three months of activities)
2). Core Program:
- press release template with company boilerplate
- the writing of one new product release with editorial
contacts (provided in either .dbf or comma delimited format)
- computer trade editorial calendar tracking to identify
story opportunities (relevant review roundups, features);
the writing of two query letters
- the writing of two news items with editorial contacts
- the development of one user story
- relevant consumer/business contacts
- list of relevant listservs/newsgroups for Internet marketing
- two phone consultations per month
Optional components include trade show support, securing
speaking engagements, coordinating press/analyst tours
and weekly debriefings/consultations.
"From our inception, BackBone provided us with the direction and resources
we needed to achieve company and product recognition in a competitive market," says
Rosalia Bacarella, President of iClick, pioneering developers of enterprise portals. "BackBone
understands the needs and is sensitive to the budgetary constraints of small,
emerging technology companies, and developed an effective, targeted program that
captured and conveyedour message…which has yielded significant results."
