Isn’t Silicon Valley on its last legs anyway?
Tania Hershman
Although there may be fewer cultural barriers, it isn’t
easy to clone Silicon Valley within the United States, either.
As president of Backbone, a tech-marketing firm with New
York and South Florida offices, Charles Epstein has seen
on two fronts how difficult this task is. "Silicon Valley
was not built in a day and is not a simple model to emulate
to the extent that its emergence resulted from a confluence
of forces and factors," he said. "I view the valley
and its almost mythical status as a basketball player views
Michael Jordan: It's an impossible standard to reach, but
worth aspiring to.”
