In one of the newest wrinkles to hit the public relations
industry, a Long Island firm is marketing kits designed to
help small companies blow their own horns. BackBone Inc.,
a high-tech public relations and business development firm,
has started offering a do-it-yourself public relations program
called PR.exe 2.0 for emerging technology companies.
"This is for companies who understand that in order to grow they need to
promote themselves, but they don't have the budgets to support public relations
from even smaller niche boutique firms," said Charles Epstein, president
of BackBone Inc.
